Innovative grinding machines for individual requirements
With almost 100 years of experience, Tacchella is a leading manufacturer of innovative cylindrical grinding machines for external machining and large production volumes, grinding machines for reaming, sharpening machines and universal grinding machines.
Tacchella grinding machines are used by leading industrial and grinding companies for precise final and post processing of mechanical parts.
ADVANTAGES AND HIGHLIGHTS
Efficient internal and external grinding machines for high-quality components
Tacchella grinding machines are used to machine workpieces for 2- and 4-wheel vehicles, off-road vehicles, aircraft, drive and reduction gears, machine tools, tooling fixtures, molds and tool holders.
Tacchella Crossflex external cylindrical grinding machines feature axes arranged crosswise. Tacchella Elektra universal grinding machines take on any grinding task requiring cycle or CNC controls. Tacchella Pulsar grinding machines were developed for removal at high cutting speeds (CBN) and offer hydrostatic guide systems on the main machine components.
Tacchella grinding machines in the Proflex range offer two to four conventional grinding wheels or CBN high-speed discs on one machine. This converts simple grinding machines into true high-performance grinding centers. Tacchella Multitech multifunctional machining centers permit the combination of grinding work with other machining operations (turning, milling, drilling, thread cutting, etc.) at high cutting speeds (CBN + HPT).
Grinding machines for the highest demands
Tacchella Crossflex external cylindrical grinding machines are equipped with a conventional 610 mm grinding wheel, or a CBN 500 mm grinding wheel for high-speed cuts. Three different headstock swivel systems for the grinding wheels and extensive options provide maximum flexibility. They have an innovative workpiece headstock with integrated motor and a hydraulic tailstock for weights up to 150 kg between the centers. Round workpieces can therefore be ground with absolute precision.Learn more
Tacchella Pulsar external cylindrical grinding machines are the ideal grinding solution for medium to large batch sizes. The Pulsar offers crossed and hydrostatic X and Z work axes and enables the use of both conventional and CBN grinding wheels with high cutting speeds. Maximum flexibility is guaranteed by various drive systems, automatic CNC-controlled compensation of the distance between centers, a grinding wheel dresser, in-process measuring instruments and various automatic loading systems like gantry loaders or robots.Learn more
Tacchella Multitech cylindrical grinding machines are mostly used in the automotive sector. They enable the combination of grinding and other technologies, such as hard turning, milling, drilling and thread cutting. The Multitech provides a compound carriage for a B-axis turret head, at least two electro-spindles per carriage, a linear motor on Z-axes, hydrostatic guideways and 500 mm diameter CBN grinding wheels. Different grinding wheel configurations offer maximum flexibility for every application.Learn more
Tacchella Proflex external/internal cylindrical grinding machines offer maximum efficiency for grinding transmission shafts, bearings, pump gears, spindles, etc. These grinding machines permit the use of two, three or four conventional 610 or 760 mm diameter grinding wheels as well as 400 and/or 500 mm diameter high-speed CBN grinding wheels. A workpiece spindle stock with integrated motor and a hydraulic tailstock mean that workpieces up to 400 kg can be ground with absolute precision.Learn more
Tacchella Elektra universal grinding machines can be flexibly configured for different grinding tasks. These include the machining of shafts, tool holders, workpieces in general precision mechanics, punches, pump gears, etc. A wide range of options results in a total of 27 models being available. A built-in workpiece spindle head driven by a motor and the hydraulic tailstock enable efficient grinding of round, oval and polygonal workpieces up to a weight of 350 kg.Learn more

Andrea Tacchella opens a mechanical job shop in Acqui Terme (Alessandria). Despite the difficult economic situation, he succeeds in making a name for himself in a special field of precision mechanics in just a few years.
Production capacities are consolidated in the post-war period. The company focuses on sharpening and grinding machines. After the death of the founder, sons Elio and Franco assume the reins and focus on designing and manufacturing complete ranges of new sharpening/external grinding machines.
Inauguration of the new plant and launch of Tacchella with headquarters in Cassine (Alessandria). The plant is equipped with the latest infrastructure and contributes to ultimate assertion on the international market.
Development of CNC controls and dedicated software updates for the entire grinding machine production. This gives rise to machines with high flexibility and versatility, like the Multigrinder and Grindiflex ranges, as well as single-purpose grinding machines. Development of the current Crossflex and Elektra ranges.
Acquisition of Tacchella by the FFG Group.
